MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
April begins on a private and contemplative note, as the Sun visits Aries, your eighth house of intimacy and inner journeys, through April 19. This is your time of year for deep reflection and emotional processing, and as such, you might not have the energy for more than a few one-on-one interactions where you don’t have to be “on.” Time alone has never scared any Virgo we know; in fact, you cherish it. Savor some hours of sacred introspection and keep your social schedule light. Journal, read, reconnect with close friends, and work on a project that requires research or intense concentration.
You’ll emerge wiser, refreshed, and ready for adventure when the Sun enters Taurus on April 19, warming up your optimistic ninth house. The Taurus new moon on April 21 could bring an opportunity to travel (even internationally), study, or even try a new business venture. Are you up for the challenge? You might just be! Go-getter Mars is in Virgo until July 3, sparking your desire to leave a personal stamp on the world. After April 13, Mars powers forward into direct motion, reigniting your ambition. LOVE & ROMANCE:
You’re not a big live-in-the-moment person to begin with, Virgo, and now you’ve got your sights set on the future even more. From April 3 through August 7, love planet Venus is in Gemini, your tenth house of long-term plans. Fortunately, Venus is all about peace, love, and harmony, so your talks about the future shouldn’t be fraught with the usual anxiety. In fact, it will be much easier to bring up the topic of commitment, kids, marriage, moving, finances…whichever of the “biggies” you may have the urge to tackle.
If you’re in a relationship, now is the time to discuss whether you two really want the same things out of life…or if you even remember what your dreams are anymore. Perhaps they’ve changed. Co-creating some inspiring future plans (the fun kind, such as a dream home or a trip around the world) will bring coupled Virgos closer together. When sexy Mars goes direct (forward) in Virgo on April 13, your “spring fever” could shoot right off the barometer. Bring the passion back to your relationship—or if you’re single, express a little bit of your wilder side, even in the way you dress.
The tenth house governs career, so hosting Venus here can spark an office romance, or you could meet someone through your work. As long as it’s not breaking company policy or blurring business boundaries, there’s no reason your professional network can’t be the trail to true love. You need a mate who can keep up with you intellectually (you never stop thinking!), so having compatible professional paths isn’t a bad thing. Your relationship with your dad also figures into your love patterns now, as the tenth house rules fathers. Make peace with the primary man in your life, and it will have a positive ripple effect through all your relationships.
There may be some early childhood wounds to explore, especially since shadowy Pluto is retrograde (backward) from April 10-September 18. Pluto is in Capricorn, your fifth house of love, passion, and emotional expression. Intense and dramatic feelings could bubble up—almost like a dormant volcano awakening. Virgos have a tendency to repress hurt feelings, and then disappear to quietly nurse your wounds. Now, all those emotions come out into the open, especially near the Mercury-Uranus conjunction on April 19.
Just be sure to take responsibility if you’ve been keeping too much inside. It’s not fair to spew the hot lava of your stifled emotions on the people around you and burn THEM. If you’ve been playing the noble, suffering saint instead of keeping it real all along, aim for more emotional transparency. The fifth house also rules fertility, and some Virgos will either have a karmic (and potentially unexpected pregnancy) during Pluto retrograde, while others may struggle to conceive. If you’re having fertility issues, consider that there’s some emotional repair work to do in order for you to be energetically ready. Where are you blocked or trying to control things? It’s a great time to combine business with pleasure and to improve your relationship with your boss, client, or colleagues. We’re not saying you should suck up…but we’re not saying that you shouldn’t, either. Thoughtful gestures are a Virgo specialty, and if they happen to improve your career status, so be it. Plug into the generosity network this month. If you’ve got a great social media following, send out a supportive Tweet on a colleague’s behalf or write a glowing LinkedIn testimonial. Offer to connect two people whom you think should meet. Give to others, and the good karma will come back around. The April 6 Libra full moon falls in your work and money house—the perfect date to make your mark on the job, to score a hot account, or to premiere a project you’ve been working on in the past few months.
Your long-term finances are a focus through April 19, while the Sun is in Aries, your eighth house of wealth, assets, and shared property. You may deal with debt, a loan, a real estate matter, or merging and dividing up assets. Communicator Mercury and unpredictable Uranus align in Aries on April 19, which could bring financial news out of the blue. Hopefully, that means a great income tax refund is coming your way, rather than an unplanned expense. Remain optimistic! If you’ve been trying to sell property, you may suddenly find a buyer; or, if you’re house hunting, you could discover that dream home when you least expect it. Investments fall under the eighth house domain, so a project could suddenly get funded, perhaps with grant or seed money.

Your chutzpah returns on April 13, when gutsy Mars goes direct (forward) in Virgo, fueling you with moxie until July 3. Shed your politeness (well, most of it) and just go for your dream—yes, that one. Mars is midway through a rare eight-month visit to your sign (it normally stays just six weeks); all the more reason to take advantage of this courageous time. Like a caterpillar about to become a butterfly, you may need those last days in the cocoon before you’re ready to fly. It’s a great time for a cleanse, a seasonal juice detox, or to feng shui your home—even if your idea of “space clearing” means getting rid of all the junk you’ve accumulated. On April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus, and you’re ready to soar. If you’re close with your dad, some quality time together will add a happy, sentimental touch to this month.
