A survey has revealed than an astonishing 43 per cent of women carry around a pair of sexy pants in their handbags… just in case a night goes better than planned While many of us choose Bridget-style sculpting underwear for special occasions – or even for every day wear – 60 per cent of would never admit it, even to long-term partners.

The survey, of 2,500 adults also revealed surprising statistics about the kind of underwear we buy depending on our size. It found that slim, size 8 women are most likely to wear sensible cotton pants while size 16s prefer sexier matching sets. Size 14 women, meanwhile, are the most likely to wear a suspender belt or to sometimes not even bother with underwear at all.
