MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
The Sun is in Sagittarius until the 21st, filling you with a sense of purpose and renewal. Where November was an unstructured, sleepy fog for many Archers, December hands you a wheatgrass shot from the gods. At the December 16th new moon, your solar calendar resets. It’s the start of a new six-month cycle, so set inspiring goals on this day. However, don’t expect the people around you to get on board immediately. This moon will square off with erratic Uranus, indicating changes on the homefront. Your personal evolution could require family members to adjust, and they’re sure to grumble about it. Plug your ears. Sagittarius, you must do what’s best for you, even if that means moving for a job or shifting your lifestyle to allow for more self-care.

December 16th is your personal new year, so don’t wait until the 31st to make your resolutions. There will be enough activity on New Year’s Eve as it is. That night, a Cancer lunar eclipse falls in your intimate eighth house, bringing an intense life chapter to a close. It’s the culmination of the July 22nd solar eclipse, which ushered in a period of deep inner transformation. Like a snake shedding skin, you step out of confining old ways. Let it go and don’t fight the forces above—resistance is futile. Adopt one of our favorite quotes as your mantra: The world is conspiring in your favor.

LOVE & ROMANCE:
December is a lovefest right from the start. On the 2nd, the stars play cosmic Cupid, doubling their efforts. Love-planet Venus enters Sagittarius, making you attractive and ready for a fresh start, either with a newcomer or your current beau. That same night, a Gemini full moon beams into your relationship sector. For some Archers, this could be one of the year’s most romantic evenings, complete with a diamond-dipped proposal or a heartfelt declaration of love. With your impulsive sign, you could hop a plane to Vegas to tell “Elvis” your vows.

If a relationship has gotten out of balance, the full moon helps you negotiate a workable new arrangement or patch up communication. People evolve, and this full moon is a great time to re-attune with your mate. Bundle up for a long walk or head to your favorite (quiet) restaurant for a long chat over dinner. For your honest sign, conversation always brings you closer—or at least, to a point of resolution. Single Sags, use this full moon to uncover any blocks to true love. Some Sagittarians could realize you’re no longer on the same wavelength as your partner, and may decide to mutually part ways. Unsure? If the Gemini full moon on December 2nd doesn’t bring your answer, the “blue moon” on December 31st will. December has an unusual TWO full moons, and the second—which is also a lunar eclipse—falls on New Year’s Eve. If you’ve been going through a bitter breakup, divorce or settlement, the December 31st eclipse brings that to a blessed end. You may need to divide up assets, sell a home or complete a relationship by returning “stuff” to an ex. Take a deep breath and move into 2010 with a clean slate.

MONEY & CAREER:
Don’t shoehorn yourself into a tightly packed schedule just yet, Sagittarius. You need to be free to celebrate your birthday and ground yourself in the start of a new solar year. For the first three weeks, just engage with life. Inspiration will find its way to your heart when you’re relaxed and happy, not when you go out searching for it.

When Mercury enters Capricorn on the 5th, jot down a few money-making notes, and begin organizing your 2010 budget. However, don’t commit to any major plans until the Sun enters Capricorn (your money sector) on the 21st. You’ll be in a much more cash-productive state of mind from then on. On the 27th, Mercury will go retrograde (backward) for three weeks. If you’re job hunting, reconnect with old employers and colleagues. You may even return to a former workplace early next year, albeit on different terms.

By the time the calendar flips to 2010, four planets will be in Capricorn, capped off by a December 31st lunar eclipse in your wealth sector. Eclipses bring surprises, and you could receive a windfall, a year-end bonus or an unexpected offer. Or, you may need to lay down cash for a debt, a tax bill or a legal expense. Talk to an accountant if you’re unsure of your tax status—you may be able to funnel some profits into an IRA or find other ways to keep your hard-earned cash from going to the government’s pocket.

HEALTH & FITNESS:
You’ve got energy to spare, a welcome relief after a lethargic November. While it may defy logic to start exercising during the holidays, you’re never one to march to a conventional beat. So turn up the music and march to a new workout that will keep the endorphins flowing all winter. You love to shake your hips (a Sagittarius-ruled area), so check out Nia. It stands for Neuromuscular Integrative Action, and it’s an aerobic exercise that combines dance, martial arts and healing arts. It works on your mind and body at the same time—double the value, especially for an overthinker like you.

With innovative Uranus ending a five-month retrograde cycle in Pisces, it’s time to explore your femininity. As the zodiac’s hunter, you spend a lot of time in the “masculine” mode, chasing and pursuing. Begin practicing the art of receiving and simply “being.” This is a sneak preview of 2010, when Jupiter (your ruler) moves into Pisces, your fourth house of femininity and women.
