MONTHLY OVERVIEW:

April is like a mullet: business in the front, party in the back. The Sun spends the first three weeks in Aries, your work and money house, putting you in a practical and productive groove. Last month’s birthday celebrations are over, and you’re ready to make some of those resolutions concrete. Following a simple, step-by-step plan each day will get you to your goals, so be a little more disciplined than usual.

 

The April 6 Libra full moon puts long-term finances into focus—just in time for income tax returns, if you live in the United States. The cosmic slot machine might just line up in your favor that day, or you may deal with a large sum of money (either an outgoing investment or an incoming windfall). Relationships improve after March 13, when Mars ends its three-month retrograde (backward) spin in Virgo, your partnership sign. That’s music to your ears, as sensitive Pisces find it hard to function when there’s discord with a loved one.

 

When the Sun moves into Taurus April 19, you’ll feel a lot more social—perhaps out of necessity! Parties, meetings, invitations, and schmooze-fests will dot your calendar, and you probably won’t be home too often. C’est la vie. Use the opportunity to put together some cute new spring outfits and work it. Although you cherish your moments of solitude, you get energized by great conversations and connecting with interesting people. While the revitalizing Sun and bold Mars work in harmony from April 23-25, you could make a powerful business (or romantic) connection with someone you meet socially. Mingle for your jingle!

 

 

LOVE & ROMANCE:

Love gets cozy now—and it might be the one thing that keeps you home during this busy month. Romantic Venus begins an extended stay in Gemini, your domestic and feminine fourth house. You’re craving someone you can relax with at the end of the day, more emotional closeness, and some family-style bonding. A pregnancy is possible over the next few months, or you might even consider adoption. Some Pisces may decide to move—or move in together—or to renovate your home to make it more of a sensual, relaxing space. If you have children (and even if you don’t), it’s a great month to do more family-oriented activities or to incorporate the kids in your life into fun activities. Don’t be surprised if a wise little one makes an astute observation about your lifestyle that leads to an epiphany. Hey, you never know who the messenger will be!

 

Single Pisces, self-care is your access to romance now. Utilize some basic feng shui principles to make your home a welcoming space for a fulfilling, equal partnership, or maybe even consider getting a professional consultation if you’re feeling uneasy in your space. Your friendships with women or any nurturing types are extra grounding now, too—especially if you’re going back out into the dating world or are in a newly formed relationship. Remembering that you have a supportive, unconditionally loving posse will keep you from getting too hung up on new prospects (read: desperate). If you’ve been “waiting” to host that dinner party or to invite people over until you have a partner, cancel that attitude and throw a little springtime soiree. If your home isn’t party terrain, invite friends to a favorite neighborhood spot where you feel at home. The weekend of April 21 looks promising, as the Sun and Mars will form a lucky trine angle between your social third house and your seventh house of relationships. Tell your friends to bring their friends…and watch what happens.

 

A Libra full moon on April 6 illuminates your eighth house of intimacy and intense emotions. A proposal, pregnancy, or possibly even a breakup could come near this date. This full moon draws a line in the sand: you’re either in or you’re out. The wishy-washy undefined space is of no interest to you now. An attraction could consummate into a sexy interlude at this passionate full moon, too. Strong emotions could surface and conversations could get heated. Perhaps you’ve reached a breaking point and need to clear the air.

 

The second half of the month looks even brighter for love when passionate go-getter Mars breaks out of confinement on April 13, speeding up the activity in Virgo, your relationship house. Mars has been in low power retrograde since January 23, making you feel like a caged animal—increasing both sexual tension AND frustration. You’re probably not feeling like a satisfied customer these days, but that will change soon enough. Mars remains in Virgo until July 3, a great time to be proactive if you’re looking for love. Coupled Pisces may argue more, but you’ll also settle the score in the bedroom. And if that doesn’t work, it might be a helpful time to pursue couples’ counseling or try something that gets you to hear what the other is trying to express.

 

 

 

MONEY & CAREER:

April is a get-down-to-business kind of month, and while the lovely temperatures will draw others outside, you’re busy being productive with both work and household projects. For the first three weeks of the month, the Sun is in Aries, your career-focused second house. It’s an important time to build security and to revamp your plans, budget, schedule, and daily routines. The whole work/life balance thing is a noble ambition, but hard for most folks to pull off. Still, you must have commitments you can cut back on in your life. If you’re not getting any juice out of certain things, but you’re spending time and money on them, give yourself permission to quit! Leave some breathing room in your life to make space for activities that are a better fit.

 

The April 6 Libra full moon spotlights joint finances, real estate, and legal matters. At the full moon, you may also pool your resources with someone else, perhaps for a joint business venture. However, you may want to wait until after April 13, when stressful Mars goes direct (forward) in your partnership house, before you ink the deal. A tax bill, credit card payment, or other bill could come due, and you may have to come up with a way to cover it on the fly, perhaps even with a loan. If you’ve applied for a loan or seed money, the full moon could bring your answer.

 

Circle April 19 and the days around it for exciting financial news. Messenger Mercury and change-maker Uranus meet in Aries, which could bring a job offer out of the blue. You may also get an unplanned expense, but if you do, you’ll figure out an ingenious way to cover it…one that could lead you down a whole new income-producing avenue. Talk about a blessing in disguise.

 

The Taurus new moon on April 21 could also be the perfect day for a meeting, interview, sales pitch, or publicity opportunity for a project. If you’re a writer, teacher, or public speaker, the Taurus new moon hits “refresh” in your communication house. Why not start drafting that novel, or open up a Twitter account to spread a few140-character nuggets of wisdom?

 

Group dynamics can get tricky while shadowy Pluto is retrograde (backward) in your teamwork house from April 10-September 18. You may have to deal with underlying power plays among colleagues and even in your circle of friends. Try not to get caught up in the subtle competitive vibes, gossip, and he-said-she-said situations. Keep your own motives and intentions above board. During this cycle, be mindful of whom you confide in. While you’re a trusting soul, not everyone can keep a secret. If you’re developing a business idea, have a stack of non-disclosure agreements at the ready before you share about it.

 

 

 

HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:

Harmony returns to your household this month when peacemaker Venus enters Gemini, your home and family sign. Start a spring renovation or decorating project now. However, pause before you break out the jackhammers and chainsaws—Venus will be retrograde in Gemini from mid-May until late June, so make sure it’s something you can finish in the next six weeks. Perhaps a fresh coat of paint will suffice for a sprucing-up.

 

If you’ve been feuding with a female relative, now’s the time to break bread and resolve the issue. The second half of the month is especially good for clearing the air with someone close to you. The April 21 Taurus new moon in your house of friends and siblings is a good time to have “the talk” and get things back on track.

 

Just make sure this is someone you actually want in your life before you expend too much effort. With dark-sided Pluto in your friendship house from April 10-September 18, jealousy and undermining could seep into your inner circle. Perhaps this person is projecting his/her own stuff onto you, and isn’t capable of being more self-aware right now. (Check yourself: you may be doing the same.) Is it better to step away or engage? You’ll have to make the call.
