Pisces
February 19 through March 20
November 2011
MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
There’s no sitting around this month for you, Pisces! From start to finish, November is action-packed, with the career and travel zones of your chart being the real live wires. The Sun is in Scorpio, your worldly and inspired ninth house, until November 22. You could spend a lot of time Skyping, making holiday travel arrangements, or working on a visionary project. Any fogginess or confusion lifts on November 9, when your ruling planet Neptune ends a four-month retrograde (backward) slowdown in Aquarius, your intuitive twelfth house. Your normally reliable inner compass has been a little bit off since the summertime, but with Neptune back in action, you’ll be hooked back into the divine guidance channel again.
On the 10th, the Taurus full moon could bring an exciting message or an important conversation with a sibling, friend, or colleague. This is the day to speak your mind and to be as authentic as possible when you do. If you’re a writer, this full moon is perfect for launching a blog, publishing an opinion piece, or submitting a book proposal. That same day, energizer Mars begins an eight-month visit to Virgo, your committed relationship sign. From November 10-July 3, business and romantic partnerships are on fire. While there may be moments of tension and head butting, Mars can also reignite that sexy spark.
This could also be a month where you make a prominent career move. All throughout November, planets visit Sagittarius, your tenth house of career and success. Smooth-talking Mercury and charming Venus enter Sag on the 2nd, making you the belle of any board room, industry event, or sales meeting. You’re able to lead with both your head and your heart, a rare ability enhanced by this transit. On November 25, a Sagittarius solar eclipse could rocket you forward ten steps. Eclipses bring surprises out of the blue, so you could get a sudden job offer (with relocation included), or you could make an unexpected career change in the coming six months.
If you’re unhappy in your current job or line of work, Thanksgiving weekend is perfect for soul searching. With thought-provoking Mercury retrograde (backward) in Sagittarius, you might even reconnect with an old boss or mentor. Perhaps you’ll just long for simpler, more straightforward times. Your relationship with your dad may need some repair work, as Sagittarius rules your tenth house of fathers. While Mercury is retrograde from November 23-December 13, deal with anything unresolved between you two.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
You’ve got commitment on the brain this month. Yes, you, the flip-flopping Fish who’s secretly afraid of being hooked on the line. On November 2, communicator Mercury and love-planet Venus enter Sagittarius, your tenth house of long-term goals. Suddenly, you’re drafting up five-year plans, checking out estate jewelry and wedding rings “just for fun,” and thinking seriously about the future. If you have a willing partner, this is a great time for harmonious talks about your shared goals and dreams: a country house, a trip around the world, flying lessons, whatever. Single? Go upscale. You could meet someone promising at a black-tie-only event, a chi-chi hotel bar after work, or even through business. (However, think twice before you date a coworker!)
On November 10, an unusually long relationship cycle begins when energizing Mars enters Virgo, your commitment house, until next July. Mars ordinarily visits a sign for six weeks, and this time it stays put for an incredible eight months. The upside? You get a boost of courage, confidence, and life-force energy, which makes you incredibly attractive. Whatever you desire, you’re not afraid to ask for it now. Mars is all about passion and raw sex appeal, so whether you’re single or coupled, you’re definitely bringing sexy back to your love life.
The challenge? Mars makes us impatient and hotheaded. At times, you might come on a little too strong. Pressure to “put a ring on it” could intensify, and your inner Bridezilla could make a showing. Mars in your relationship house can also stir up fights (it’s the warrior planet), so there could be moments of high irritation. If you’ve allowed a dead-end relationship to go on past its prime, or put up with an unfulfilling situation, you won’t be able to take it any longer. Pisces who are divorcing could face courtroom contention, so get a good lawyer.
The key will be managing your anger and expressing it constructively. Since you tend to hold resentment inside, people aren’t used to you being so outspoken about your discontent. Voice your needs and rights, but remember, if you’ve played the dominated doormat, you’re party responsible for that, too. Instead of flying off the handle, work together with your partner to create a true compromise you can both live with.
Your relationship with your dad can provide clues to any of the current dynamics in your love life. Over Thanksgiving, an eclipse and Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (your house of fathers and men) are especially eye opening here. Is there some forgiveness work you need to do around your dad that would pave the way for a smoother personal life? You may be unconsciously acting out old patterns or even replaying hurt and anger that you’ve held inside.
MONEY & CAREER:
Talk about a year-end bonus! Your career gets some serious planetary love this month. The Sun visits Scorpio and Sagittarius, two enterprising sectors of your chart. On November 2, idea-maven Mercury and attractor Venus both enter Sagittarius, your tenth house of leadership and success. Pitch your big idea, speak up at the company meeting, or launch that solo project (and Tweet your fingers off about it, too). Come out of your hiding place and share your creative genius with the world.
The Taurus full moon on November 10 is a perfect day to broadcast or launch an exciting idea and to shamelessly toot your own horn. This full moon is in your house of friends, colleagues, and neighbors, so work your network if you’re trying to spread the word. Tell your friends to tell their friends, and you can get some major buzz going. Yes, your artsy, indie-hip side feels weird about self-promoting. But in these days of info overload, if you don’t market yourself, how will anyone find out how cool your ideas really are?
If things have gotten stale or staid on the job, don’t worry: the winds of change are blowing. The biggest gust is the November 25 Sagittarius solar eclipse, which could knock you out of Kansas and drop you into Oz. Black Friday, indeed—this could be the day you hear about that bonus, raise, or an exciting new position. You may suddenly decide you want to radically shift directions, and some Pisces might even leave their jobs in the next six months. In some cases, a department could be eliminated or a manager might leave, as these lunar events sometimes literally “eclipse” people and situations out of our lives. However, since this one is a new moon, it’s more likely that something will be added to your life, rather than taken away.
The eclipse has a six-month arc, so the next half-year will bring a continuous wave of developments and some chances to hobnob with serious VIPs. Some of these people could even make you an offer in the coming months. From November 10-July 3, go-getter Mars is in Virgo, your partnership house. Exciting contracts and collaborations could put your life on the fast track.
Just take your time before you ink any deals. Mercury is retrograde (backward) in Sagittarius from November 23-December 13, which can bring miscommunications and delays. It’s fine to start negotiations or to research your options, but if possible, wait until mid-December. Mercury goes direct (forward) and a lunar eclipse brings another wave of surprises that help put the puzzle together. Mercury retrograde turns our attention to the past, so you might want to connect with an old mentor. In fact, your old company could just dial you up out of the blue. Got a demanding boss? Let him/her know that the Blackberry has a cutoff time, or else your vibrating pocket could interrupt family festivities.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
October had its share of stresses, and the first week might carry over some of that tension. That’s because high-pressure Mars has been in Leo, your sixth house of health and organization, since September 18. It’s been hard to keep track of all the details—and to avoid the sneezers and coughers. Making things even tougher, Mars has been in tense opposition to your ruling planet Neptune, which is in your sleepy, foggy twelfth house. Some days, it felt like you had a head full of cotton—especially frustrating since the demands kept piling up. A relative may have been especially draining, testing the limits of your bond and even dumping on you in a codependent way. Trying to manage your own life while taking care of the other needy baby birds has been an exercise in frustration.
Deep breathe your way through the first week of November and until the all-clear signal sounds. On November 9, Neptune rockets forward into direct motion, helping you sort out YOUR baggage from someone else’s. You’ll be much less likely to slip into enabler mode, or to fancy yourself the helpless victim, nursemaid, and caretaker for the unwashed masses. On November 10, Mars leaves Leo, cooling the stress and susceptibility to germs. The first thing you’ll want to do is take a nap, hit a yoga retreat, or just hole up in your own little sanctuary, away from it all. Mars will be in Virgo, your partnership house, until next July. For the next eight months, be especially vigilant who you bring around, because people will either be supportive or demanding—with very little gray area in between.
Your relationship with your parents, especially your dad, could be rocky over Thanksgiving while Mercury is retrograde in your tenth house of fathers. Feel like you’re your parents’ parent? Maybe it’s time to un-adopt them and live your own life.
