AQUARIUS JUNE 2011
AQUARIUS
January 20 through February 18
June 2011
MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
You’ve been running on all cylinders for most of the year, and it’s been exciting… but manic. So many people, projects, and ideas—who could pick just one? This month, you have a chance to settle down and turn your attention to your personal life. On June 4th, expansive Jupiter enters Taurus for a year, bringing new activity to your fourth house of home, family, and self-care. The fourth house is the foundation of the zodiac wheel (it’s the bottom piece of the chart), and Jupiter’s presence makes the next twelve months all about creating and cultivating roots. This may be one of the more low-key or internal years you’ve had in a long time, one in which you voluntarily lighten your schedule to stay home and read, watch movies with the family, or cook. Jupiter in Taurus could bring a pregnancy, an exciting long-distance move, or the purchase or sale of a home. Women and children could play a strong role, and your relationship with your mother could evolve.
Although your inner homemaker will trump your inner party monster, don’t strangle yourself with those gingham apron ties just yet, Aquarius. There’s plenty of action on the love and social fronts this month, too. The Sun is in Gemini, your romantic and passionate fifth house, until June 21st. On June 1st, a Gemini solar eclipse sparks an exciting new romantic or creative chapter for the next six months. Two weeks later a Sagittarius full moon is also a total lunar eclipse in your house of group activity and technology. This is a great day to network, launch a website, or make an important contact. You could have an epiphany about your life’s purpose and the difference you want to make in the world.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
Cool, calm and casual? Not anymore. Passion, and perhaps some drama, ignite your sign this month, thanks to a procession of planets in Gemini, your fifth house of romance. The Sun is in Gemini until June 21st, but the action starts immediately with a June 1st Gemini new moon solar eclipse. Eclipses bring unexpected events that push us off the fence. Your feelings will be pretty black-and-white at this eclipse, and emotions will run high. It’s never the best idea to make life-altering decisions (such as eloping in Vegas or filing a quickie divorce) when you’re feeling so reactive and charged-up, so wait a few days for the dust to settle before you get carried away.
This eclipse will harmoniously angle cautious Saturn, urging you to look before you leap. You might fall for someone older or more experienced, or even develop feelings for a co-worker. Although pacing yourself is great, don’t dismiss strong feelings as a passing fancy. You may indeed have found “the one,” but you’ll need more time to be sure. Fortunately, love planet Venus is in Gemini from June 9th-July 4th, joined by sexy Mars from June 20th-August 3rd. This could be one spicy summer indeed!
On June 15th, the Sagittarius full moon is a total lunar eclipse, this one in your eleventh house of long-term visions and ideals. Does your romantic partner truly champion you on this path? You can’t stop your star from shining, Aquarius, and you need a mate who will encourage you to fulfill your calling. Have you done the same for your partner or even your closest friends? Take an honest look at where you can be more of a team player—and where in your life you can let yourself be more of a superstar, too.
Although your sign can be pretty nomadic, you’re suddenly interested in settling down these days. That’s because on June 4th, lucky Jupiter pays a twelve-month visit to Taurus, your fourth house of home, family, and roots. Pregnancy and children are on the radar for the next year. We expect to see a slew of Aquarius celebrities on the “baby bump” list (Jennifer Aniston, will the tabloids finally be true?), or perhaps even adopting kids, like Aquarius Sheryl Crow has. Your home is a powerful energetic center, so if you’re single, try some elementary feng shui tricks, like decorating with pairs of objects (candlesticks, pillows, nightstands) to invite partnership.
The fourth house is the zodiac’s feminine zone, and you may decide to play up this oft-ignored part of yourself. Aquarians tend to be casual denim devotees, but you may gravitate to softer colors, flowy fabrics, and even vintage styles during this time. This year will also bring a birth of new emotions—something your sign tends to avoid. Check out New York Times science writer Daniel Goleman’s book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ. He argues that fluency in these interpersonal skills (which can be learned, unlike IQ) can make us better partners, colleagues, business people, and friends.
MONEY & CAREER:
You’ve been promoting, marketing, and Twittering like a fiend all year. Now it’s time to chill out, quiet down, and connect. For the next year, you’ll succeed not just with a clever brand name or a witty tagline, but also by deepening your relationships with colleagues, clients, and coworkers. Lucky Jupiter is in your caring, domestic fourth house for the next year—which is actually the direct OPPOSITE of the zodiac’s tenth house of career and ambition. In the coming months, you’ll benefit from taking a “family style” approach to your career. That may literally mean starting a home-based business or working with a relative. Or, you may just establish closer emotional ties with your professional cohorts. Your work could involve women, children, and hospitality. You might volunteer at a shelter, get involved in a women’s non-profit, or host salon-style networking parties in your home.
Although you’ll enjoy more quality time at home, don’t get too comfy. Jupiter is the long-distance connector, so you may also be invited to relocate or travel for work. This possibility is bolstered by structured Saturn, which is visiting your ninth house of travel, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Since late January, Saturn has been in low-power retrograde (backward) motion, slowing down these areas. If you’ve felt landlocked, or even have had a hard time keeping the faith, all that changes on June 12th when Saturn resumes direct (forward) motion. Consider taking or teaching a class, or exploring metaphysical routes to prosperity. Get your business cards ready for the June 15th Sagittarius lunar eclipse, a powerhouse full-moon manifestation in your networking and teamwork house. Delve into your impressive circle of connections, and use LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media outlets to connect. This is an incredible night to host or attend a benefit or an industry event. A friendship or association could come to a head at the June 15th total lunar eclipse. You’ve reached the end of the line and something’s gotta give. You may decide to cancel memberships, subscriptions, and ties to an organization that you’ve outgrown. Not only will this save you money, it will also create open space for new and better options. When the Sun enters Cancer for a month on June 21st, you’re ready to shred those old papers, ship a few boxes to storage, and create a serene, uncluttered environment.
Between now and November, you have some healing work to do around money, as well. Neptune and Chiron, both associated with recovery and primal wounds, are retrograde (backward) in your money sector during this time. It’s time to shed beliefs around lack or scarcity that you picked up early in life. Anywhere around money that you’ve deliberately kept things foggy (or even a little on the shady side), you’ll want to clear up now.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
For the first time in ages, your personal life is actually a more prominent focal point than your social and professional ambitions. That’s because abundant Jupiter will spend the next year in Taurus, your fourth house of home, family, and self-care. Your relationship with your parents and children will go through a growth phase, one that will likely leave you both wiser and better able to see each other as separate people (rather than trying to codependent control freaks). If you’re trying to get pregnant or thinking of expanding your family, this would be a great time, as the fourth house rules motherhood. Not sure if you can still get pregnant? Check out Pamela Madsen’s blog “The Fertility Advocate” (www.fertilityadvocate.com).
This is a great year to move, rent a pied-a-terre, or invest in that beach property. You’ll cherish bouts of solitude during this phase (and more personal space), so find a way to carve out “a room of one’s own.” Writing also provides healing and a connection to your emotions—this is key right now, as your feelings will be flowing fast under Jupiter’s influence! More time in or near water is also healing—be it the ocean or the bathtub. Keep your space cozy, clean, and clutter-free now. On the 21st, the Sun moves into Cancer, your healthy and organized sixth house. This kicks off a month of deep-cleaning, sorting, and a nutritional overhaul.
