MONTHLY OVERVIEW:
April is a playful and on-the-go month, as the Sun visits Aries, your multi-tasking third house, through April 19. The third house is “command central” for all communication, so you can expect to have a full schedule, inbox, and dance card—and to be constantly on the go. Fortunately, you’re a social sign, and you don’t mind going straight from work to a party or event. But even you can get tired from the whirlwind of it all, so pace yourself.
You’ll get your chance to chillax after April 19, when the Sun moves into Taurus, your domestic fourth house. Now, your inner homebody comes out, and with expansive Jupiter also in Taurus, there will be plenty to do around the house. You may be moving, renovating, or dealing with a family matter, perhaps even a pregnancy. This is a good time to see relatives, especially female ones, so pay a visit to your parents, sister, or a close and nurturing friend. Time with children is inspiring now, so if you’re a parent, take a few hours to bond with the kids, and get them involved in a household project, such as planting a garden or painting their bedrooms. The Taurus new moon on April 21 is a great time to start any home repairs or organized family activities. A pregnancy, or news of one, is possible near this date.
LOVE & ROMANCE:
Romance returns! Feels like it’s been away for a while, doesn’t it? April gives you a chance to make up for lost time when love planet Venus starts an extended visit to Gemini, your passionate fifth house, from April 3 through August 7. If you can’t remember the last time you felt like dressing up—or if you’re secretly proud that your jeans have a cleverly disguised elastic waistband—your inner glamazon makes a well-appointed comeback. Riding on its seams is your sex drive, which has also been in hibernation for many Aquarians. Get ready for a long, hot summer, with April as a sneak preview—the action will pick up even more in July.
Boosting your mojo further is sexy Mars, which goes direct (forward) in Virgo, your intimate eighth house, on April 13. Mars has been taking a nap since January 23, and as it resumes its momentum, you’ll have a little “spring awakening.” The eighth house rules sensuality, pregnancy, marriage, and shared resources. Coupled Aquarians may also decide to pool your finances with a partner, move in together, or buy real estate. An engagement is possible. With Mars in Virgo until July 3, you can expect any such decisions to happen on the fast track.
A powerful Sun-Mars trine from April 23-25 is especially strong for pregnancy, family matters, and buying or selling a home. You may feel some pressure along with the excitement. For example, a new dream home may need to be renovated in time for summer, or a lifestyle change (new baby, new roommate, etc.) could demand stressful but necessary adaptation. View it as an adventure—and make it a memorable journey.
Aquarians who are breaking up with a partner may have to deal with dividing shared assets post-split. With bold Mars giving you a shot of courage, you’ll take a steely, “Let’s just get this over with as fast as possible” approach. Good idea. Clean breaks help you heal faster, even if they’re hard. Although it may seem cold to just cut someone off, it’s what you have to do—at least, for now.
However, if you’re merely stuffing more skeletons in your closet (we said clean break, not quickie escape), put that getaway mobile in “park.” From April 10-September 18, shadowy Pluto will be retrograde in Capricorn, your twelfth house of closure. If you’ve got unfinished business with an ex, or if you’re secretly pining for someone tempting but toxic, now’s the time to deal with the underlying (and likely self-sabotaging) motives. Coupled Aquarians may find yourself projecting your own stuff onto your partner, or seeing your own unhealed traits reflected back. Don’t shoot the messenger. If certain themes keep emerging here, it’s the universe flashing you a neon sign of where YOUR inner work still is.
MONEY & CAREER:
A big idea has been brewing, and in April, you could be ready to launch! The April 6Libra full moon illuminates your ninth house of travel, study, entrepreneurship, and visionary ideas. You could have a “meeting of the minds” near this date, gaining a wide platform for one of your innovative Aquarian ideas. You’re the sign of the future, and as such, you’re a trendsetter who’s often ahead of the curve. Sometimes, it takes the rest of the world time to catch up! But if you’ve stood behind your ideas and their potential, that tenacity could pay off in early April. This is also a favorable full moon if you work in writing, publishing, or sales, as you’ll be especially articulate and persuasive. Schedule any pitch meetings near April 6. It’s also a great time for international travel or an inspiring workshop.
If you’ve had financial stress this year, or you’ve felt the pressure of debt, bills, a mortgage, and so forth, that should improve now. Perhaps you’re waiting for an investment or loan to come through, or for news about your income tax return. Go-getter Mars is midway through an extra-long cycle through Virgo (from November 2011 through July 2012), your eighth house of wealth and joint finance. However, Mars has been in low power retrograde since January 23, which may have meant a large payment that left you scrambling—perhaps you overshot the mark or have dealt with a financial slowdown.
On April 13, Mars resumes direct (forward) motion, which could put you on the fast track. If you’ve been waiting for that check to come through, the second half of April should deliver. On the flip side, you may also hear news about a legal judgment or settlement that has to be paid from YOUR pocket. A new home, renovations, a wedding, or a family-related expense (e.g. private school) could eat into some of your savings, too. Is it time to apply for a loan, grant, or line of credit? Proceed with caution, but consider it if you need some seed capital to get through a transition. From April 23-April 25, the Taurus sun and Mars align in a beneficial way. This would be a great time to open a family trust, invest in property, or to save money for the future.
Unexpected news could arrive near April 19, when messenger Mercury meets your ruler Uranus, planet of surprises, in Aries. Both planets are associated with technology, and your Blackberry could be buzzing or your iPhone ringing with an exciting invitation. Dealing with this curveball might take a few adjustments, but if it’s a great offer, it’s certainly worth exploring. Don’t shoo it away just because it wasn’t part of the master plan. The universe may have something more interesting in mind for you, so at least hear this one out.
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL:
The first half of 2012 is one of the more internal and emotional times you’ve had in a while, Aquarius. Several planets are circulating through the more personal houses of your chart, making you introspective and private. You’ve craved quality one-on-one interactions over large groups, and emotional bonding over fun-but-superficial interactions. Rather than spread yourself around too much, you may have stuck with a small, tried-and-true circle. That energy continues this month, though you may want to branch out a little and meet more people who share your values; or, make an effort to connect by inviting someone to your home or out for coffee.
A new chapter in your home and family life begins at the April 21 Taurus new moon. It’s possible you could be buying or selling property, expanding your family, or making plans to visit relatives. Is there a deeper rift to heal? From April 10-September 18, transformational Pluto is retrograde in your twelfth house of closure. Denial and avoidance can no longer be your co-pilots; it’s time to deal with whatever’s really in your space. This would be a good time to work with a therapist, coach, or counselor. If you feel that some part of your life has veered into addiction territory, you might check out a 12-Step meeting now. Heal the underlying issue that’s causing you to self-medicate in unhealthy ways.

This is a great time to purge any toxins—both physical AND emotional—from your system. It can be an emotionally intense time, as some repressed feelings could come up (this could happen as soon as April 13, when Mars goes direct). While you may come on a bit strong that week, the passion stems from an authentic place. There’s something about which you really need to feel secure. What is it, Aquarius?
